IconPackager 3.19d[b].014 shows the "Please Wait" message forever, when applying icon changes. Task Manager shows CPU usage around 100%! It only used to take 5 seconds for the "Please Wait" message to disappear, but now it seems to take a VERY long time... I don't know how long, if it would ever disappear. So far, I've clocked it taking longer than a minute to change one (1) icon! Obviously, something is wrong. I do not get any error messages and the icon changes are applied successfully, but I have to open Task Manager and end the IconPackager.exe process to make the "Please Wait" message go away.

Thanks in advance.

If I understood correctly from version history, versions 3.19.xxx would be primary or only for Vista. There is an info that Control panel icons and shell icon handler isn't supported.Try to roll back to the previous version and see if everything is fine.If it does, stick with that version, because I dont see any improvements in the history log for Win XP.

3.19 is not only for Vista.  The updates may well be specifically for Vista (I am not 100% sure), but it will continue to work on XP as well.

Unless the product is specifically stated as Vista only (Say LogonStudio Vista), the product should also work on XP.

I have the same Problem and it shows the "Please Wait" message, I was gone from my machine for one hour and when I came back the Message was still there, I tried to roll back and nothing happened. The only thing you can do is uninstall and reinstall, that solved my problem. Dami49

I get the same message "Please Wait" and the task manager has 2 tasks SDNull and SDDim. However when I unload WindowBlind and then run IconPackager then it works well without hanging

Same goings on for me. I uninstalled 3.19 and installed 3.20.127 but the freeze still happens.

If I kill the iconpackager process in the task manager, the waiting message goes away and I have my icons applied.

I also have noticed it no longer applying my selected package upon start up.

This means on every boot I have to manually load Iconpackager, let it freeze, then kill it. This is all the same with 3.20.

When I update to 3.2, I think it reset my settings, first use please wait being shown, I also had to kill it in Task manager. I opened IP went to Settings, under Opening Icon Packages I unchecked Show splash screen when applying packages and clicked apply, so now no please wait, icons apply quickly and I can even get back to what I was doing while they apply.

Cavan1's Suggestion does eliminate the freeze on "please wait". I still can't get it to apply on startup like it used to.

I don't know if you still have this problem I found this to work for me:

Go to Settings
Under "Opening Icon Package"
un-tick "Show splash screen when applying packages"

This stopped IconPackager from hanging and applied packages very quickly.
