I updated to WB 5.01l beta and if I remember correctly, didn't have this annoying Photoshop window resizing problem with the previous beta. To reproduce this issue, do the following:

  1. Open Photoshop
  2. Click on the File menu on the top menu bar

You should see the Photoshop window resize itself.

I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 and Photoshop CS2 (9.0.2)

Thanks.

The Photoshop ripple flicker that was happening with the Argos Skin doesn't happen with any of the other skins that I have tried. Running Cyberskin right now and no weird behaviours except for the window resize. With that skin it is VERY pronounced. When you open a file, then minimize its' window, it stacks the minimized window icons on top of each other and pulls the bottom of the window up each time to the bottom of the most recently minimized icon.

Actually, it pulls up the bottom of the window to cover the most recently minimized icon at the time that the new file is opened. Your attention is focused on the file/open menu, so you don't notice it easily.

I get simmilar photoshop cs2 behavior when running it on my windows vista ultimate RC1 installation on my other hard drive, which I am currently using. I am not using any version of window blinds on this installation either. When I maximize the window and click the file menu to open a file, it changes from the aero skin to the classic skin for computers not capable of running aero. It also causes the window to resize briefly, almost exactly what I get using windowblinds on my other hard drive with XP MCE.

Vista uses a lot of the cool new features wb5 has implemented for XP, so I am thinking Photoshop is at fault because its might not be fully compatbile with these new visual features. I could be wrong, but it seems to make sense.

I still get Internet Explorer resizing every time I load it.

Have the latest drivers installed for Nvidia and IE refuses to stay in one spot.

Anyone else getting this problem?

I'm still having the window resize problem with WB 5.10 and CorelDRAW X3. Have the latest drivers from nvidia.com.

Here is my system report.

The re-size problem went away for me with 5.1, but now WB won't skin Mozilla Thunderbird and I'm getting a dancing screen when I print from Photoshop. I unstalled and re-installed to no avail. Went back to WB 4.6 and that seeems to work fine. Wish I could get back to the original 5.0.

you didn't archive it?
on Oct 28, 2006
I did archive it, but it won't reload properly. I think I'll give it one more try with all my security turned off. If that doesn't work, I'll have to assume something was corrupted in the archiving process.

It is happening for me again with any skin that has per pixel borders. When opening multiple images in photoshop, the window borders flicker badly upon opening, and when an image window is moved around the screen, they will all flicker badly. Since I use photoshop heavily for 8-10 hours a day for my job, it gets really hard to deal with, so I am just using non per pixel skins for now. I dont know if its a window blinds thing, or my computer. Below is the window blinds system information.
